Don't let your gender stop you from achieving your goals!
This is a shout out to all the females who considered Wimp 2 Warrior but used the excuse that ‘its a man’s programme’.
I too used it as one of the reasons why I didn’t want to do it. I always considered punching, kicking and taking people down while in a cage was for men who had lost their minds. Why anyone would want to put themselves in a position to be hit or choked out was beyond me.
But I went to series 2 of the W2W finale and watched the only female of that series walk out in front of 400 people. Her confidence, determination and composure changed my mind in that very instant. I said to myself ‘I would love to be able to do that!’
So basically, what I’m saying is; don’t let your gender stop you from making the best decision of your life. Try-out and represent!
Long story short; I reached out to that female warrior and before I knew it I was on the mats trying out.
Ladies; I’m not going to lie. It’s not the easiest of rides but one W2W session will push you more than 10 monotonous gyms sessions you’ve done previously. Yes, you may find it initially very daunting training with a group that is male dominated; but to be honest you’re actually at an advantage. They rally round you and look out for you. My series included 3 other amazing ladies and we were helped by Natasha and Rachel; my warrior sisters!
I don’t think the boys would be afraid to admit at times we kicked their asses!
My W2W training taught me that it’s not the madness that brings people into the cage. It’s the blood, sweat and tears you’ve put in that carries you and drives you there. Stepping out of your comfort zone day after day allows you to build your confidence and makes you realise you can do anything if you put your mind to it!
